Tierney toplines Shepard’s ‘Oxygen’

'Newsradio' thesp to join Brody in sociopathic thriller

Maura Tierney, who stars in TV’s “NewsRadio,” will appear with Adrien Brody in “Oxygen,” an independent film written and directed by Richard Shepard.

Shepard previously wrote and directed two features, “The Linguini Incident,” with David Bowie and Rosanna Arquette, and “Mercy.”

Tierney, whose theatrical credits include “Primary Colors” and “Liar, Liar,” will take exec producer credit on “Oxygen,” which will shoot for five weeks in New York beginning June 9.

In “Oxygen,” Tierney plays a cop spinning out of control; Brody plays a sociopathic kidnapper.

Following “Oxygen,” Tierney will star with Sandra Bullock and Ben Affleck in the romantic comedy “Forces of Nature” for DreamWorks.

“Oxygen” will be produced by Shepard, Jon Stern, Carole Curb Nemoy and Mike Curb, and co-producers are Jennifer Pearlman and Raelle Koota.
