Rene Russo, who teamed with John Travolta to buck the Hollywood system in Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1995 hit “Get Shorty,” is in talks to star opposite Travolta once again in Paramount’s military thriller “The General’s Daughter.”
The two would play Army intelligence investigators assigned to look into the rape-murder of a base commander’s daughter.
Based on the novel by Nelson DeMille, the picture is being helmed by “Con Air” director Simon West. Mace Neufeld and Jonathan Krane are producing.
In addition to Travolta, Russo has shared the screen with a number of Hollywood’s biggest male stars including Mel Gibson (“Ransom” “Lethal Weapon 3”), Kevin Costner (“Tin Cup”) and Clint Eastwood (“In the Line of Fire”).
Russo, who again stars with Gibson in “Lethal Weapon 4,” was repped by Bernie Carneol of the Progressive Artists Agency.
