Reynolds joins ‘Dick’

Thesp co-stars with Dunst, Hedaya in Watergate pic

Ryan Reynolds has joined the cast of Phoenix Pictures’ political comedy “Dick,” which is being directed by Andy Fleming (“The Craft”).

Pic, which began shooting on April 13, stars Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Williams, Will Ferrell, Dave Foley, Ana Gasteyer, Dan Hedaya and Harry Shearer.

“Dick” is set in the Watergate era. It is the story of two girls who, during a high school trip to the White House, encounter various political characters — including President Nixon — and become intricately involved in the largest cover-up in political history.

The comedy was written by Fleming and Sheryl Longin, and will be produced by Gale Anne Hurd, with David Coatsworth executive producing.

Ryan plays Berg in the ABC series “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.” His feature credits include “Life During Wartime” and the upcoming “Coming Soon,” in which he co-stars alongside Gaby Hoffman and Mia Farrow.

He is repped by More Medavoy Management’s Erwin More and Paul Kohner of the Kohner Agency.
