Greg Kinnear (“As Good As It Gets”) has inked and Aaron Eckhart (“Your Friends and Neighbors”) is in talks to join Morgan Freeman, Renee Zellweger and Chris Rock in the ensemble cast of Neil LaBute’s “Nurse Betty” for Propaganda Films and Gramercy Pictures.
Steve Zahn, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Elizabeth Mitchell and Kathleen Wilhoit have also enlisted for the pic, a black comedy about a modern-day Don Quixote. A Kansas waitress (Zellweger) falls in love with a TV soap star (Kinnear) and sets off to find him while two mobsters pursue her.
LaBute is helming from his rewrite of a screenplay originally penned by John Richards.
Gail Mutrux and Propaganda chairman Steve Golin are producing. Pic is slated to start shooting Dec. 7.
CAA repped Kinnear and Zahn. Paradigm and Propaganda are handling Eckhart’s deal.
