Harvey Keitel, fresh off the New Zealand set of Jane Campion’s “Holy Smoke,” has joined the cast of Seagal/Nasso Films’ “The Prince of Central Park.”
Keitel stars with Kathleen Turner, Danny Aiello, Jerry Orbach and 12-year-old Frankiein the family pic directed by TV vet John Leekley. It is currently shooting in New York.
Keitel plays the role of the guardian, a denizen of a “seemingly dark, yet enchanted area” of the famed Gotham park, according to Julius Nasso, who produces the pic along with partner Steven Seagal.
Abe Hirschfeld and Karen Poindexter are exec producers; Seagal/Nasso prexy Phillip Goldfine and John Gulino are co-executive producers.
Keitel was repped in the deal by Brian Gersh and Randi Michel of the William Morris Agency, and his attorney Ken Weinrib. Phillip Goldfine and attorney Craig Emanuel negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers.
