Heche, Moore join ‘Psycho’

Imagine tight-lipped on Van Sant's Hitchcockian remake

While Imagine Entertainment has lowered an iron curtain of secrecy around its remake of the Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Psycho,” details on the casting continue to run to the light.

Sources say Julianne Moore and Anne Heche have committed to co-star in the pic for director Gus Van Zant, who will begin lensing this summer.

Heche, according to sources, will take on the role made famous by Janet Leigh and which earlier had been offered to Nicole Kidman, who passed because of scheduling issues. And Moore, who previously had been linked to the pic (Daily Variety, April 30), is understood to be playing Heche’s sister.

Keeping up their end of the shroud of secrecy, neither Imagine, Universal (which will distribute the pic) nor CAA (which represents both actresses) would comment.
