NEW YORK — Judith Godreche, the French actress who starred in Patrice Leconte’s “Ridicule” and the Leonardo DiCaprio pic “The Man in the Iron Mask,” has been set as the female lead in “Entropy” opposite Stephen Dorff.

The film, scripted and directed by Phil Joanou, stars Dorff as a first-time director who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to make a feature around the Irish rock band U2. As he follows the band around the world on its “Pop Mart” tour, he meets the girl of his dreams, played by Godreche.

Kelly Macdonald also stars, and U2 lead singer Bono acts in several scenes. Joanou directed the U2 docu “Rattle and Hum” and enlisted the band to participate in the film through his long friendship with them. He has also directed numerous U2 videos.

“Entropy” is being produced by Joanou and Brad Epstein, and Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro at Tribeca Prods. Elie Samaha’s Phoenician Films put up the money. Nadia Redler and Michael Dowling at William Morris rep Godreche.
