Academy Award-winning thesp Cuba Gooding Jr. is in negotiations to star opposite Skeet Ulrich in the Morgan Creek/Warner Bros. adventure suspense pic “Chill Factor,” about two men who must keep a highly toxic substance below 50 degrees, or risk disastrous contamination.
Hugh Johnson is directing “Chill” from a script by Mike Cheda and Drew Gitlin. Morgan Creek topper James Robinson is producing. Jonathan Zimbert, production prexy at Morgan Creek, will exec produce with Bill Bannerman. Pic is set to begin lensing next month in Utah and on the East Coast.
Gooding won a supporting actor Oscar for his role in “Jerry Maguire,” and appeared with Ulrich in James Brooks’ “As Good as it Gets.” He’ll be seen this fall in Interscope’s “What Dreams May Come.”
