Chandler into ‘Dance’

Star-powered pix pinch art fare prospects

Kyle Chandler, best known as the co-star of CBS-TV’s “Early Edition,” has been inked to co-star in the indie feature “Angel’s Dance,” opposite James Belushi and Sheryl Lee.

Chandler will play a tough but sensitive mobster in the Promark Entertainment pic, which is penned and helmed by David Corley.

Chandler just wrapped production of his second season on “Early Edition,” a one-hour drama in which he stars as reluctant good Samaritan Gary Hobson who receives early editions of the next day’s newspaper and tries to stop the tragic events depicted in its pages.

“Angel’s Dance,” which is produced by David Bixler, is Chandler’s latest film gig. He previously starred in “The Color of Evening” alongside Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn, “Pure Country” with George Strait and the Nick Nolte-led ensemble drama “Mulholland Falls.”

Chandler’s deal was shepherded by execs at Brillstein/Grey and the Gersh Agency.
