HOLLYWOOD — Adrien Brody, one of the stars of Terrance Malick’s upcoming WWII drama “The Thin Red Line,” is set to star in Gotham-based indie “Oxygen,” a psychological thriller slated to start lensing in New York City in June.
Pic, written and directed by Richard Shepard, also stars Maura Tierney (“NewsRadio,” “Primary Colors.”) Brody will play a murderous sociopath who abducts and buries a woman alive with only a 24-hour supply of oxygen. A police officer (Tierney) must solve the crime before the victim runs out of air.
Producers on the $1.2 million project are Shepard, Jon Stern, Carole Curb Nemoy and Mike Curb. Raelle Koota and Jennifer Pearlman will have co-producer titles, and Tierney has an exec producer credit.
Brody’s previous film credits include “The Last Time I Committed Suicide,” “Bullet” and “King of the Hill.” He’s repped by JoAnne Colonna at ICM.
