The American Film Institute is promoting its upcoming Eye web spec on America’s 100 greatest films with a tie-in Web site.CBS’ three-hour special, which airs Tuesday, June 16, will present 100 films chosen by 1,500 film industry professionals from a nomination list of 400 top movies. The show is tied in with 10 one-hour TNT specs examining the films in more depth. These will begin airing June 23. “AFI.100movies.com,” the spec’s Web site, launches May 12, and offers chat rooms, trivia and an online poll, as well as a sweepstakes. Yet another tie-in is a Newsweek special issue, to hit the stands June 17, focusing on both the CBS spec and the first 100 years of American filmmaking.
