CBS taps Reisfeld

Exec fills new media prez slot

CBS has appointed Derek Reisfeld president of its new media group, announced Bill Korn, executive VP, strategic planning, business development and broadcast operations for CBS Corp. Reisfeld will report to Korn.

Dean Daniels, currently VP and general manager for CBS New Media, will continue in his position and will report to Reisfeld.

In his new post, Reisfeld will be responsible for all aspects of CBS New Media, including CBSnow, the joint venture with CBS SportsLine and CBS MarketWatch, and future growth strategies and joint ventures.

Reisfeld had been VP, new business development, CBS Corp., where he was the lead negotiator of the joint venture to form CBS MarketWatch, the Internet site devoted to business and finance. Reisfeld joined CBS in 1996 as director, strategic manager. Previously, he was a partner in the Mitchell Madison Group, a management consulting firm. He also spent eight years as a media consultant with McKinsey & Co.
