Producer Steve Tisch has promoted Judd Payne to vice president of his production outfit, the Steve Tisch Co.
Payne, formerly Tisch’s director of development, will be responsible for acquiring and packaging feature films.
He will continue to oversee development and projects in production at the company.
Tisch is executive producing New Line Cinema’s “American History X,” which stars Edward Norton and is to be released Oct.16, and the British gangster flick “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” which Gramercy Pictures has for the U.S.
Payne is responsible for bringing in “Powderfinger,” which has Don Cheadle attached to star, and an untitled project based on an article in the Los Angeles Times, which Dustin Hoffman will direct.
Tisch Co.’s credits include “The Postman,” “Forrest Gump” and “The Long Kiss Goodnight.”
