Warner Bros.’ Telepictures Prods. is beefing up its presence in Gotham, tapping “Rosie O’Donnell Show” exec producer Hilary Estey McLoughlin to oversee the expansion of its production and development activities in New York.

In reassigning McLoughlin, Telepictures has recruited Roni Selig as the new exec producer of the hit “Rosie O’Donnell” syndie talker. Selig, a 20-year TV production veteran, comes to “Rosie” after most recently serving as senior producer for ABC’s daytime strip “The View.”

Among the development projects McLoughlin is expected to focus on is a syndie talkshow with thesp-singer Queen Latifah (Daily Variety, April 28). Telepictures has yet to confirm its pact with Latifah, but it’s understood that the prospective show would be based in New York.

McLoughlin, who was a Telepictures’ creative exec for seven years before she moved over to “Rosie” in December 1996, also will work closely on development projects in the hopper at O’Donnell’s Kid Ro Prods.

“As valuable as Hilary has been to the success of ‘The Rosie O’Donnell Show,’ we’re very happy to have her back in the development fold,” said Telepictures prexy Jim Paratore. “And Roni is one of those producers who has really worked her way up in the business.”

Selig was East Coast programming and development chief for Columbia TriStar Television Distribution before joining “The View” last year.
