Smith in dual role at Fox

She's exec veep of Fox Family and G.M., Fox Kids

Maureen Smith has been appointed general manager, Fox Kids Network and executive vice president, Fox Family Worldwide. She reports to Haim Saban, chairman and CEO, Fox Family Worldwide.

In the new position, Smith will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Fox Kids, including programming, scheduling, on-air promotion, marketing, station relations and research. As exec VP of Fox Family Worldwide, she will continue to oversee scheduling of all dayparts of Fox Family Channel (premiering Aug. 15) and implementing new scheduling strategies for both services.

Most recently, Smith served as senior VP, planning, scheduling and station relations, acting as the key liaison between Fox Kids affiliated and the network. She also spearheaded scheduling for the fall 1998-99 schedules for both Fox Kids and Fox Family Channel.

Prior to joining Fox Kids Network in 1996, Smith served as VP, children’s research for Fox Broadcasting Co. Smith joined Fox in 1986 in the research and marketing department, helping establish station affiliations and Fox’s initial program schedule.
