Short new VP at WB pay TV

Exec responsible for advertising, publicity, promos

Warner Bros. Domestic Pay TV, Cable & Network Features has hired William Short as VP of advertising, publicity and promotion.

The WB division supplies theatrical movies to the broadcast, cable and pay TV networks and to satellite distributors and pay-per-view outlets. It also sells TV series such as “ER,” “Sisters” and “Dukes of Hazzard” to cable networks, and is distributing firstrun series like “Babylon 5” to TNT, which is owned by Warner Bros. parent Time Warner.

Short’s most recent job was VP of marketing and worldwide business development for Hallmark Entertainment. Before that, he held such posts as managing director, international, for the National Hockey League, and director of film promotions for the Walt Disney Co. Europe and the Middle East.
