Alex Litvak has been tapped to serve as vice president of production for Robert Newmyer and Jeffrey Silver’s Outlaw Prods., where he’ll round out the creative team under recently appointed production prexy Scott Strauss.
Litvak joined the Warner Bros.-based Outlaw after a 1-1/2-year stint as a creative executive at 20th Century Fox, where he worked closely with Strauss during the latter’s tenure at Fox-based Kopelson Entertainment.
During his tenure at Fox, Litvak was connected with such feature projects as “The Seven Day Soldiers,” “34th Floor,” “The X-Files” and “Sin Eater.” Litvak has also held development positions at ICM and Renny Harlin’s production company.
Litvak will work alongside fellow Outlaw veepee of production Orin Woinsky to support the company’s expanding slate of feature projects, focusing on sophisticated thrillers and action films, among other genres.
Outlaw is in production on the comedy “Three to Tango,” starring Neve Campbell and Matthew Perry, and “Gossip,” with Davis Guggenheim slated to helm. Richard Gere starrer “Sadness at Leaving” and Samuel Jackson-toplined “Training Day” are nearing green lights.
In addition to its first-look deal at WB, Outlaw has a financing arrangement with Intermedia and Fuji Television.
