Just one month shy of its first anniversary, Mostow/Lieberman Prods. has made its first senior hire, naming Abby Wolf prexy of the Universal-based company, effective June 1.

The production outfit, co-headed by Jonathan Mostow and Hal Lieberman, has its first two projects for the studio already lined up — the World War II action thriller “U-571” and the mockumentary “The New Jersey Turnpikes,” about a fictitious basketball team circa 1975.

Mostow will helm and Lieberman will exec-produce “U-571,” the Michael Douglas-starrer set to go before the cameras this summer. Dino and Martha DeLaurentiis will produce.

Shooting begins this week on “The New Jersey Turnpikes,” which Lieberman will produce with Bryan Buckley at the helm. Kelsey Grammer is attached to head an ensemble cast.

Wolf joins Mostow/Lieberman from Sandollar Productions, where she served as prexy. While there, she oversaw such productions as “As Bees in Honey Drown,” and the HBO original telepic “Holding Out.”
