Premiere Radio Networks, distrib of syndie radio powerhouses Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura Schlessinger, has upped Kraig T. Kitchin to the new post of chief operating officer. Kitchin will oversee all aspects of the Sherman Oaks-based company’s operations, in addition to spearheading sales efforts for the 60-odd radio programs syndicated nationally by Premiere. Kitchin, formerly exec VP, has been a senior exec with Premiere since its inception in 1987.

Amy Rosenblum has been tapped as co-executive producer of “The New Maury Povich Show,” the veteran yakker’s revamped talkshow coming this fall from Studios USA Television Distribution. Rosenblum has spent the past decade as a talkshow producer, most recently serving as co-exec producer of Studios USA’s “Sally Jessy Raphael.” She worked for CBS News for several years before moving into the talkshow field in 1988 as senior producer of “The Joan Rivers Show.”

Peter van Roden has been upped from veepee of production to senior veepee of production and themed entertainment for Jim Henson Co. Van Roden oversees all of Henson’s production out of New York, including the Muppet Workshop. With the promotion, van Roden will also spearhead development of Henson-branded entertainment for theme parks and other live venues. Before joining Henson in 1993, van Roden worked as director of network and syndicated specials for Walt Disney TV.

New Line Home Video has named Marshall Carr VP of operations. In his new position, Carr will be responsible for all operational areas of New Line Home Video. He most recently served as senior manager of new release operations at Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Additional promotions at New Line include Michael Mulvihill to director of operations, Lynne Braggs to manager of operations, and Joe Yamamoto to operations coordinator.

The Motion Picture Assn. of America has upped Phuong Huynh to director of public affairs. Before Huynh joined the MPAA in 1992, she worked in the Washington office of Turner Broadcasting System. She takes over for Rich Taylor, who now heads MPAA’s public affairs operations.

Adult trade group publisher Paul Fedorko is stepping down at William Morrow & Co., and Michael Murphy, veepee and sales director since 1995, has been named his successor. Prior to joining Morrow, Murphy held posts at Putnam and Ballantine. Also, Jacqueline Deval has been upped to veepee and publisher of Hearst Books, owner of William Morrow since 1981.

Shadow Broadcast Services, a unit of Westwood One, announced Thursday the addition of two account executives. Bobby Matchak, formerly a senior account executive at Chancellor Broadcasting, and Christine Gaston, formerly of K101 Radio, will serve as Shadow’s newest account execs. Shadow is a service that provides traffic, news, sports, entertainment and weather programming to national affiliates. Westwood One is the nation’s largest provider of radio programming.

Du Art Film and Video Laboratories announced the promotion of Linda Young from exec VP to CEO. Young will be responsible for navigating the course of Du Art in the upcoming era of digital broadcasting. Young is following in the footsteps of her father, Irwin, who has directed the company since the early 1950s.

Tom Cosgrove has been appointed veepee of planning, scheduling and station relations for Fox Family Worldwide. In the newly created post, Cosgrove will help plot out long-term strategy for the Fox Kids Network and the Fox Family Channel.

Howell Mette has been named veep of engineering for CBS Operations and Engineering, where he’ll take over responsibility for CBS’ National Football League telecasts. Mette has spent the past five years as director of news operations for CBS News.

Fox Broadcasting Co. has promoted a number of execs in its advertising sales department. Gloria Badenhop, Gigi Eisenberg and Cliff Pozner have been upped from directors to veepees of sales planning and administration. Neil Mulcahy has been named senior VP of national promotions, specials and Internet sales, while account execs B.J. Arnold and Lorie Durnan have been bumped to veepees and group directors for eastern region sales.

Ron Sanders has been named Warner Home Video’s managing director for the U.K. and Ireland. He’ll report to Edward J. Byrnes, exec VP, WHV Intl. Sanders joined WHV in 1991 as veepee of sell-through sales. Prior to his position at WHV, Sanders served nine years with Procter & Gamble in a variety of sales and marketing positions.

Atlanta-based Cox Communications has named Ellen M. East director of public relations. East will head the company’s corporate public affairs department, which encompasses PR, media relations, community affairs and corporate, internal and electronic communications. East will also serve as the company’s spokeswoman. She has been with Cox since 1987, serving in various communications capacities.

Granite Broadcasting has upped Martin Edelman and William Ransom to senior veepees with responsibility for managing the company’s TV stations on the West Coast and Northeast, respectively. Edelman had been general manager of Granite’s Detroit outlet, while Ransom has been g.m. of Granite’s station in Buffalo.

Rosalie Frazier has been named chief operating officer of TV Strategy Group, the London-based research and consulting firm. Frazier, a veteran international media consultant, most recently served as director of Asian business development for Frank N. Magid Associates.

Disney Interactive has named Tim Zuckert VP of sales and marketing and Pam Weisberg VP of business and legal affairs. In his new role, Zuckert oversees all marketing operations for Disney Interactive. Before joining Disney, Zuckert was VP of marketing at the Palace, a leader in live communication for Web-based businesses. Weisberg joins Disney from FX Networks, where she was senior VP of business and legal affairs. Prior to that she was assistant general counsel for ESPN.

Marcia S. Ross has been upped to the new position of senior VP of casting for all three of the Disney-based motion picture banners. Ross will continue to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of casting for pics produced under the Walt Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures banners. Ross began her career at the studio in 1995 when she was named VP of casting for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures.

RCA Records has tapped Nick Cucci veepee of marketing. In his new role, Cucci will be responsible for creating and overseeing the execution of marketing plans including advertising and image campaigns. Cucci comes to RCA from Columbia Records.

Rosalie Frazier has been named chief operating officer of the TV Strategy Group. In her new position, Frazier will oversee the company’s day-to-day inter-national research and consulting operations from its London headquarters. Frazier was most recently director of Asia business development for Frank N. Magid Associates in Malaysia.

Declan O’Brien has been tapped VP of development at production/distribution company Team Entertainment, and Rob Marhaim has been upped to VP of current production and development at the company. O’Brien hails from a five-year stint at Disney; Morhaim joined Team in 1997 and served as director of development and production.

United Talent Agency has announced the addition of agent Elana Barry to its television literary department. Barry’s responsibilities will include representing UTA’s roster of leading television writers and producers in both TV and film. Prior to joining UTA, Barry was a TV literary agent at Innovative Artists. She began her career in the mailroom at ICM.

Ethnic-American Broadcasting Co. announced two executive positions. Murray Klippenstein has been tapped exec veepee of corporate development and Richard P. Ramirez has been named exec veepee, broadcast group. Klippenstein will be responsible for conceptualizing and negotiating all new business ventures; Ramirez will oversee the launch and rollout of EABC’s foreign-lingo services.
