Hoping to make a star out of its corporate logo, Santa Barbara-based sportswear company Big Dogs has signed with Creative Artists Agency.
CAA will rep Big Dogs — which makes and sells activewear, accessories and other consumer products — in Hollywood, hoping to establish a TV series around a character based on its signature logo (a charismatic St. Bernard) which bedecks all of its properties.
Big Dogs is hoping to reverse the established course of retail properties, which typicall originate as characters in films or television shows. Basing its entire line around its canine icon and slogans like “Attitude is Everything,” the company is looking to expand upon its current brand recognition — stemming from sales from its 160 retail outlets, mail order catalogs and wholesale accounts — through TV and other media outlets.
