TV industry veteran Allan Yasnyi has been named prexy and CEO of TV research giant ASI Entertainment, which is prepping for a major nationwide expansion of its program testing facilities.
Yasnyi, the former chairman and CEO of Quinn Martin Prods., will fold his research and consulting business, Synapse Communications Group, into ASI. In his new post, Yasnyi will spearhead ASI’s facilities expansion in Gotham and other regions, as well as its entry into product testing and research services for businesses outside of showbiz.
At present, ASI provides focus group testing and other program research and consulting services for a range of TV network clients, including CBS, NBC, Fox, HBO, MTV and such studios as Warner Bros., Paramount and Columbia TriStar TV. ASI’s parent company, Media Advisors Intl., also has extensive TV research operations in Europe through its London-based TV Strategy Group division.
With his move to ASI, Yasnyi will continue to serve as exec director of the Entertainment Technology Center, a research unit of USC, where he is also an adjunct professor.
