Worldvision eyes strips

Spelling Entertainment’s Worldvision Enterprises is expected to confirm this week plans to bring two new strips to the syndie marketplace next year.

“Make My Day” is a “Price Is Right”-esque gameshow hosted by the Pointer Sisters (Daily Variety, Sept. 22).

Worldvision officials were not available for comment Wednesday, but the comedy-flavored gameshow is said to be the brainchild of British TV producer Peter Bazalgette.

Worldvision’s other project targeted for fall ’98 is a court show produced by Big Ticket Television, which developed the syndie sophomore sensation “Judge Judy.” The new show reportedly will handle more controversial cases and will be hosted by outspoken Tennessee judge Joe Brown.
