ABC Entertainment president Jamie Tarses and new entertainment chairman Stu Bloomberg, both showed up Monday at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Pasadena, but they won’t formally address the group until Wednesday.
A joke making the rounds at ABC has it that Wednesday’s session will draw the biggest audience ABC’s had in years. Many of the reporters Monday were less interested in ABC’s shows and stars than about the management turmoil. When cornered Monday, Tarses told a group of reporters she plans to stay at the network, but that probably won’t end speculation that she’ll exit sometime soon.
At last year’s press tour, Tarses and then-ABC entertainment chairman Ted Harbert appeared arm-in-arm, only to have Harbert ankle the web six months later, as everyone had expected.
