Nielsen adds Nashville

Nielsen Media Research expects to begin metered-market ratings service for Nashville in July, bringing its total overnight ratings sample to 38 markets covering 59% of U.S. households.

Nashville, the 33rd-largest TV market with 780,000 homes, will join New Orleans, where overnight ratings reports will begin this month, and Memphis, set to begin in May. Sullivan Broadcasting’s WZTV, Nashville’s Fox affil, and WUXP, a UPN station operated under an LMA, have signed up for the Nashville service, along with Speer Communications’ WB station, WNAB.

The addition of Salt Lake City and Columbus, Ohio, last fall brought the current sample to 35 markets.
