Home & Garden Television (HGTV) has reached an agreement with Granada Television to distribute a selection of HGTV’s original programming on the Good Life Channel, a cable and satellite network featuring lifestyle programming in the U.K.
This will be HGTV’s fifth international distribution agreement made within the past year.
Starting this month, Granada Television will air two hours of branded HGTV programming each weekday, and three hours on Sundays.
“Granada has long been associated with television programming of the highest quality,” said Kristen Jordan, HGTV VP of international development. “We are delighted to have established this partnership with Granada, which could soon encompass co-production.”
The Granada Good Life Channel is wholly owned by Granada Sky Broadcasting, which is a joint venture of Granada Television and British Sky Broadcasting.
HGTV already has more than 31 million TV households committed to launch, including DirecTV, EchoStar, Primestar and C-band packaged satellite subscribers nationwide. Its programming also is distributed in Canada on the Life Network, across Europe on NBC Europe, in Japan on the Home Channel and in Australia on the Odyssey Channel.
HGTV is owned by the E.W. Scripps Co.
