Grasso likely to leave U TV

Days after Universal hired Ken Solomon as the new president of Universal TV, word comes that changes are brewing. Sources say U’s senior VP of comedy programming, Maria Grasso, is looking for a new job and has begun talks with NBC. Comedy is the area the studio cites as most in need of repair, so a change wouldn’t be surprising. Ironically, NBC is the network that canceled U’s most promising comedy show, “Something So Right,” at the 11th hour (see story, page 8), leaving the studio with just one comedy — a new show with Tom Arnold for the WB next season.
