As part of Fox’s push for original summer programming, Dean Koontz’s “Intensity” will be the network’s first-ever summer miniseries. The two-parter, which will run Aug. 5 and 6, stars John McGinley (“The Rock”), Molly Parker (“Kissed”) and Piper Laurie (“Twin Peaks”). “Intensity” is produced by Mandalay Entertainment in association with TriStar TV. Tom Patricia is executive producer and Preston Fischer is producer. Yves Simoneau directs, and Stephen Tolkin wrote the screenplay. In addition to the mini, Fox is also debuting a few new series this summer, including “Roar” and “The Ruby Wax Show.” It’s the first step toward Fox’s goal of year-round programming, which is risky, given lower viewing levels, ad rates and license fees for summer fare.
