Esposito joins cast of ‘Spin City’

NEW YORK — Jennifer Esposito has been cast as a regular character on the ABC sitcom “Spin City.”

Esposito will play the role of Stacy Paterno, Michael J. Fox’s sexy new assistant. The DreamWorks-produced program will kick off ABC’s Wednesday schedule this fall after airing on Tuesdays last season.

Esposito has also landed a minor role in Tony Gerber’s film “Side Streets,” an urban comedy that is being exec produced by Ismail Merchant.

Esposito recently appeared in Tony Vitale’s “Kiss Me Guido,” and has just finished filming on Spike Lee’s Denzel Washington-starrer “He Got Game.” in which she is one of two female leads. She also will appear with Ed Burns, Lauren Holly and Jon Bon Jovi in “Long Time, Nothing New.”

Esposito has a recurring role as a Mafia princess in the TV cop drama “New York Undercover,” which is on Fox’s midseason roster this season.

The deals were brokered by Tina Thor of TMT Entertainment Group and Esposito’s agents, Steven Hirsh and Larry Taube of the Gersh Agency.
