E! to cover Hong Kong conversion

When Hong Kong reverts back to Chinese rule on July 1, the crack investigative reporting staff of “E! News Daily” and “E! News Weekend” will be there to record all of the … entertainment?

Yes, E! Entertainment Television may not be the first place you think of when appraising the world’s great electronic newsgathering organizations, and it may not have much experience in covering world politics, but the network promises to be way out front in reporting the event’s all-important show-business angle.

From June 27 to July 4, “E! News Daily’s” Greg Agnew will be in-country to blow the lid off of Hong Kong’s thriving film industry and to capture the thoughts of Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jackie Chan and Jeremy Irons — all of whom are in Hong Kong working on films related to the handover.
