Channel looks to separate itself from premium cable movie pack

Looking to separate itself from the premium cable movie pack, Cinemax has upped its commitment to high-profile independent features and has several skedded to premiere on the service in the coming months, beginning tonight with “Breaking the Waves.”

Also debuting on Cinemax are “Someone Else’s America” starring Tom Conti (Dec. 27); 1996 Cannes Palme d’Or Prize winner “Secrets & Lies” starring Brenda Blethyn (Jan. 9); “The Funeral” starring Christopher Walken (Jan. 30); and David Lynch’s “Lost Highway” with Bill Pullman and Patricia Arquette (Feb. 13).
