NEW YORK — The CBS Corp. announced Monday it has tapped Robert J. Ross as VP of news production systems.
In his new position, Ross will oversee all aspects of the CBS operations and engineering support for the web’s news division. He will report directly to Jay Fine, senior VP and general manager, East Coast broadcast operations.
The move is part of some restructuring being done at the web in preparation for their coverage of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan.
“(This move) also enables (VP of technical and Olympics operations) Darcy Antonellis to focus her energy full time on the Olympics,” Fine said.
Ross had been VP of operations and engineering for the CBS-owned television stations since the merger of CBS and Westinghouse. He is a 19-year veteran of the broadcasting company.
