Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn, Brian Kerwin (“Murphy’s Law”) and Lucas Black (“Sling Blade”) have been tapped to star in “Flash,” a two-hour movie for ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney” franchise.
“Flash” is the story of a young boy, played by Black, who is forced to sell his horse and companion Flash to an evil new owner after his family falls on hard times. Burstyn plays the boy’s grandmother, and Kerwin plays his father.
Currently being filmed in Georgia, “Flash” is directed by Simon Wincer (“Free Willy”) from a screenplay by Monte Merrick (“Memphis Belle”). Riley Ellis (“Metro”) and Christopher Seitz (“Savannah”) are producers, while Roger Birnbaum (“While You Were Sleeping”) is executive producer. The movie is a production of Roger Birnbaum Prods. in association with Walt Disney TV.
