Brokaw set to reup with Peacock

Inside Moves

NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw appears close to re-upping with “NBC Nightly News” for four more years. Brokaw, who joined NBC in 1966, had been wooed by CNN with a reported salary offer of $8 million a year, but it looks like he’s going to stay at NBC with a likely pay hike to $7 million annually, putting him in the same league as network news rivals Dan Rather, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer. While Brokaw’s deal is expected to be finalized later this week, an NBC News spokeswoman disputed reports Monday that the deal was done, saying it was “premature” and insisting that some contract details still need to be worked out.
