3rd inning for HBO’s ‘Arli$$’

HBO has given a third-season renewal to the Robert Wuhl comedy series “Arli$$,” with 13 episodes skedded to debut in summer 1998.

Show, starring Wuhl (who also executive produces) as ethically challenged sports superagent Arliss Michaels, “has hit a home run with our subscribers,” said HBO Original Programming prexy Chris Albrecht.

First two seasons of the satire have featured cameos from such sports stars as Shaquille O’Neal, Tommy Lasorda, Henry Aaron, Pete Rose, Barry Bonds and Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre as well as by Ted Turner, Larry King and the late Brandon Tartikoff.
