United Artists’ new James Bond film has been blessed with the title “Tomorrow Never Dies,” producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and UA prexy Lindsay Doran announced Monday.
The 18th Bond pic — scheduled to begin lensing next month northwest of London — will pit Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007 against a lead villain played by Jonathan Pryce. Roger Spoottiswoode will direct and Desmond Llewelyn will make his 16th appearance as Q, while Michelle Yeoh will play 007’s female ally.
“Tomorrow Never Dies” has Bond attempting to head off a media mogul who controls a powerful global newspaper as well as satellite and television systems worldwide. The villain has the ability to manufacture news and change the course of history.
The film, also scheduled for production in Southeast Asia, Mexico and Florida, concludes with Bond in the midst of an international confrontation.
