The stars were out and the weather posed no problem for partygoers at the premiere of “John Grisham’s The Rainmaker” on the Paramount lot Tuesday night.
The screening of the legal-themed pic was a benefit for the ACLU Foundation and its efforts to defend the Bill of Rights.
Following the Memphis-set film, partyers gathered outdoors to enjoy Southern-themed food and R&B favorites. Celebrants at the gala included helmer Francis Ford Coppola, and cast members Danny DeVito, Jon Voight, Matt Damon, Claire Danes, Mickey Rourke, Mary Kay Place, Virginia Madsen, Dean Stockwell, Johnny Whitworth and Andrew Shue.
Also there were Paramount Pictures chairman Sherry Lansing and vice chairman Rob Friedman, as well as Viacom Entertainment Group chairman Jonathan Dolgen, producers Steven Reuther and Fred Fuchs, composer Elmer Bernstein, NARAS prexy-CEO Mike Greene, helmer Gus Van Sant, Andy Garcia, Steve Buscemi and Talia Shire.
