Oscar watch

Kenneth Branagh will make his second appearance on the Oscars when he presents an award at this year’s telecast.

Branagh is nominated this year for his screenplay adaptation of “Hamlet.” He’s received noms in three other categories: In 1989 as director and leading actor for “Henry V,” and in 1992, live-action short, for “Swan Song.”

Branagh recently finished production on “Shakespeare’s Sister”; he is in production on John Grisham’s first original screenplay, “The Gingerbread Man,” for director Robert Altman.

The Oscars will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium on ABC starting at 6 p.m. on March 24.
