Oscar lunch goes online

Oscar.com, the official Web site for the Academy, has partnered with software maker Progressive Networks to broadcast live footage from the Oscar nominees luncheon March 11.

Interviews with attending nominees and other press room action will be broadcast employing RealVideo technology, developed by Progressive Networks, which allows for TV-quality audio and video.

The site, which is co-produced by the Academy and ABC Online, will also broadcast clips from nominated movies and live celebrity arrivals on the day of the Oscars, but the actual awards ceremony will only be available on ABC TV.
