Norman Philip Wadell

Norman Philip Wadell, a two-time Emmy-winning art director from the daytime drama, “The Young and the Restless,” died Dec. 28 of brain cancer in Los Angeles. He was 45.

Wadell , who came to Los Angeles in the late 1970s, freelanced on “General Hospital” and later worked on the “Benson” series for a season.

In 1983 he joined the staff of “Young and Restless” at CBS. While at the web, he art directed the net’s Rose Parade coverage and designed affiliate conferences in addition to numerous other promotional events.

Wadell is survived by his wife, Margaret, a son and his parents.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Norm Wadell Fund, c/o CBS Employees Credit Union, 7800 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036.
