NEW YORK — Mary Tyler Moore will host the East Coast dinner for the 49th annual Directors Guild of America Awards Dinner, which will be held Saturday in New York and Los Angeles.
The East Coast dinner will take place at the Sheraton New York Hotel. Celebrity presenters include Sidney Lumet, charged with giving the D.W. Griffith Award to Stanley Kubrick, who will accept via taped message from London, and Arthur Penn, who will bestow the Robert Aldrich Service Award upon Delbert Mann, who will accept in L.A.
Other presenters include Paula Zahn of CBS News, Susan Lucci of “All My Children,” Big Bird of “Sesame Street” and Jerry Orbach of “Law & Order.”
None of the feature film nominees for the DGA awards will be attending the New York ceremony, unlike last year when the presence of winner Ron Howard shifted attention to the East Coast.
In the documentary-actuality category, Leon Gast (“When We Were Kings”) and Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky (“Paradise Lost”) will attend the Gotham dinner.
“Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk” star Savion Glover, comedian Nipsey Russell and singer-actor John Gab-riel will entertain the New York dinner guests.
