More than 1,500 people turned out to board 20th Century Fox’s “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” the sea-faring follow-up to the 1995 surprise hit, Monday night at the Cineplex Odeon Century Plaza.
After the premiere, the crowd moved across the street for the outdoor, cruise ship-inspired party, replete with reggae band, gambling tables and lots of drinks with little umbrellas.
On hand were the film’s stars Sandra Bullock and Jason Patric, co-stars Glenn Plummer, Temuera Morrison, Tamia, and director Jan de Bont. The Fox contingent included execs Bill Mechanic, Tom Rothman, Laura Ziskin, Bob Harper and Jorge Saralegui.
Also on board were Kenneth (Babyface) and Tracey Edmonds, helmers Michael Bay and Martha Coolidge, the Detroit Pistons’ Grant Hill, scribe Joss Whedon, Cheryl Tiegs, Jeff Foxworthy, singer Sophie B. Hawkins, thesps Salma Hayek, Ron Perlman, Dyan Cannon and Antonio Sabato Jr., and such tenpercenters as ICM’s Robert Newman and UTA’s David Schiff and Cynthia Shelton-Droke.
