Miller signs on for Zone radio show

Stephanie Miller, whose syndicated latenight Buena Vista talk show “The Stephanie Miller Show” was canceled after just 13 weeks in fall 1995, returns to radio in late May as the afternoon drivetime personality at KTZN-AM (aka the Zone).

Ironically, Miller returns to the Disney fold: KTZN is an ABC Radio station. “It’s sort of hard to avoid Disney at this point, since they own half of the free world,” Miller said.

It was at KFI-AM radio that Miller made her mark with an irreverent weeknight show before leaving in June for the ill-fated late-night gig. Her show for the Zone is expected to be syndicated nationally by early fall, likely with ABC’s radio network.

“After a year in the Federal Talk Show Relocation Program, I decided to come home to radio,” Miller added. “In the immortal words of Dorothy from ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Click your radio dial three times and repeat after me … There’s no place like The Zone … There’s no place like The Zone … There’s no place like The Zone.’ ”

Miller is also working on a book entitled, “The Late Shaft—How to Get, and Lose, Your Own Talk Show in 13 Weeks or Less.”
