King World’s top-rated gameshows “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” have now been renewed through 2002 on 55 stations reaching 60% of the country, including 18 of the top 20 markets.
Aside from the numerous ABC O&Os that renewed the game block at the National Assn. of Television Program Executives confab, buyers include: WPVI Philadelphia, WJLA Washington, D.C., WDIV Detroit, KOMO Seattle, WEWS Cleveland, WCCO Minneapolis, WTSP Tampa, WPLG Miami, KATU Portland, WCPO Cincinnati, WKBW Buffalo, KRQO Albuquerque, and others.
Separately, Summit Media has renewed kid series “Dragon Flyz” in 108 markets covering 82% of the country for its second season, including all top 20 and 45 of the top 50 markets. Summit’s new “Van-pires” has cleared 114 markets covering 82%, including all top 20 and 47 of the top 50 markets.
