Fox 2000 has picked up the high school-based pitch “Never Been Kissed” by recent USC film school grads Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein.
The pitch was acquired by Fox 2000 exec VP Kevin McCormick for the Laura Ziskin-helmed division.
Sandy Isaacs is attached to produce the romantic comedy about a magazine copy editor who must prove herself to her editors by going undercover for an insider’s view of contemporary high school life. The story assignment forces her to relive and confront the most hated period in her life.
Details of the deal were not disclosed.
While this marks the first sale for the young filmmakers, their short “Fairfax Fandango” previously served as the duo’s calling card around town.
“Fandango” — which appears in the upcoming L.A. Independent Film Festival — is another romantic comedy, about a trendy female comedian who falls in love with a young orthodox Jewish man.
Kohn and Silverstein were repped on the deal by Pierre Brogan of the Paradigm agency, manager Daniel Rappaport of 3 Arts Entertainment and attorney Neil Meyer.
