Continuing to build its executive team in the wake of last year’s shakeup, the Disney Channel has hired Carol Sussman as VP, acquired programming, responsible for all program acquisitions including series, movies and specials.
Sussman joins Disney Channel from FX Networks, where she served as director of programming and oversaw the launch and programming of the FXM: Movies From Fox channel.
Before serving at FX, Sussman was director of acquisitions at Comedy Central and is credited with bringing the cult British comedy “Absolutely Fabulous” to America via the comedy network.
Disney Channel also announced Friday that Tina Treadwell has been appointed to the newly created position of director of talent development, where she will oversee the casting of all original series and movies and spearhead music specials at the channel.
Treadwell was president of her own casting company, Treadwell & Associates, before joining Disney.
