Joe Stevens

Joe Stevens, senior vice president of television finances for Sony Pictures Entertainment, died Sunday of a heart attack at his home in Santa Clarita. He was 49.

Stevens, a 10-year veteran of SPE, oversaw all finance and accounting activities for Sony Pictures’ television operations.

A certified public accountant, Stevens joined the company in 1987 after having served as controller of filmed entertainment for the Walt Disney Co. since 1980.

Stevens spent four years in the Air Force before graduating from the U. of San Diego. He began his career as an audit manager for Arthur Young.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; and two children.

Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eternal Valley in Santa Clarita.
