Ivan Martin, the retired director of studio operations for 20th Century Fox and the father of Gary Martin, who is president of production for Columbia TriStar, died Thursdayat St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank following a lengthy illness. He was 82.
Martin, a native of Colorado, began his career in the film industry in 1946 and worked at Fox from 1954-1982.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife of 14 years; a daughter; three grandsons, including Larry Ellena, who works in the sound department at Todd AO, and Steve Ellena, who works as a film editor for Paramount; two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive.
Family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions in Martin’s name be made to the Motion Picture and Television Fund in Woodland Hills.
