Ernie Brown, a television and feature character actor, died July 14 of natural causes at Kaiser Permanante Hospital in Panorama City. He was 86.

Brown’s TV credits include: “All in the Family,” “Hill Street Blues” and “The Bob Newhart Show.”

Feature credits included “Mother,” “Lost in America,” “Defending Your Life,” “In the Mood” and “Wisdom.”

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bea, a son, Jeff, who is an actor, and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of North Hollywood, 4832 Tujunga Ave.
