This morning’s 10 o’clock memorial service for Tartikoff is reserved for the exec’s family, friends and colleagues. It’s being held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, L.A.
The Tartikoff family is requesting that members of the media respect their desire to hold what is essentially a private memorial service. Security has been hired to keep the service from being reduced to a press event.
Outdoor speakers will be set up outside the mortuary hall at Mt. Sinai to accommodate what is expected to be an overflow crowd of several hundred mourners.
Tartikoff died Wednesday at UCLA Medical Center of complications from treatment for Hodgkin’s disease.
NBC plans tribute
NBC tonight is planning to air a tribune to former NBC Entertainment and Paramount Pictures chairman Brandon Tartikoff, who died Wednesday after a long battle with Hodgkin’s disease.
The tribute will air at 10:40 p.m., immediately following an expanded edition of “Dateline NBC” and will chronicle Tartikoff’s 14-year career at the web.
It will also feature testimonials of stars who worked with Tartikoff, including Bill Cosby, Don Johnson, Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld. The regular 10 p.m. drama “Homicide” will be preempted.
