Paramount Pictures exec VP of worldwide publicity and 12-year Par employee Cheryl Boone-Isaacs is in talks to become president of marketing at New Line Cinema. Boone-Isaacs would have to be released from her contact, which expires sometime this summer. If she takes the post, she would become one of only three women in Hollywood running an entertainment company’s feature film marketing department. The others are Buffy Shutt and Kathy Jones at Universal Pictures. Boone-Isaacs likely would report to Mitch Goldman, who also has the title of president of marketing and distribution at New Line. All eyes have been on the company’s marketing department, which has been in disarray since president of marketing Chris Pula ankled to move to Warner Bros. Pula left after repeated clashes with Goldman concerning issues regarding authority. Boone-Isaacs would immediately have to begin hiring her own team at New Line following the exit of such key execs as executive VP of marketing Karen Hermelin, who recently ankled to move back to New York. Neither Boone-Isaacs nor New Line Cinema would comment.
